Cezanne was always intended to be a band. It is very difficult when you are young and face so many obstacles. The only time Cezanne played any public venues was about 13 years after the songwriting began… Cezanne, the band, was formed in New York City. The record Breaking Bats for Jesus caught attention, charting on national college radio and getting into the MTV music library. The band was succussful at getting the chance to play premium venues in Manhattan, starting out at the Knitting Factory and Cakeshop, and venues in Brooklyn like Trash Bar and Goodbye Blue Monday. Cezanne played solo at open mics becoming a regular around Manhattan and Brooklyn at venues such as CBGBs, Sidewalk Cafe, Laila Lounge, Lucky Cat and Pete’s Candy Store.
As a band in 2008 they were well appreciated, connected and poised to play even bigger venues in Brooklyn and continue on in Manhattan.
With the singer’s sudden exit from New York City the band was over in a heartbeat, mid-february 2008.
